Drinking Sowerby Bridge

Supported by

We created a pop-up bar serving two bespoke mocktails inspired by the heritage and stories of Sowerby Bridge. The drinks were served with a riso printed drinks menu featuring poetry relating to local heritage and inspiration behind the drinks, projections of the waterways and a room that gestured to the industry of the town.

As part of this project:

The Sowerby Sour

Inspired by the waterways and optimism of the town. A lemon kombucha and passionfruit based punch topped with berry, beetroot and chili sorbet which diffused into the drink.

Foundry Fizz

An industrial herbal elixir with dandelion and burdock topped with a black pepper meringue cloud. This was theatrically blowtorched and topped with a ‘coal’ sprinkle.

Originally commissioned by Sowerby Bridge Fire and Water as part of the Heritage High Street Action Zone Cultural Programme funded by Historic England and Arts Council England
