SUNNY BANK MILLS

As part of our micro-residency at Sunny Bank Mills, we delivered a drop-in activity inspired by the heritage of dye production at the mill and the eye-test that dyers would have to take, testing acute perception of colour.

We created a series of differently flavoured vegan creams in the same colours, combining into a colour gradient of unexpected flavours held in white chocolate cups. Visitors were invited to taste and guess the flavours, experimenting with perception, expectation, and the senses. We also created an original textile piece which featured as a tablecloth for the workshop featuring poetry.

This workshop followed a short period of research in the archives and of creative development.
